Coast Guard searches for local Jacksonville diver off St. Marys, Ga.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Coast Guard helicopter rescue crew from Air Station Savannah, Ga., along with other search units in the area are searching for a local Jacksonville diver 66 miles east of St. Marys, Ga.

The Coast Guard was notified at 5:08 p.m of the missing male diver. The diver was reported to have submerged at 4:30 p.m. and had not resurfaced when expected. The depth of water is approximately 150 feet.

Search crews have located the diver’s spear gun.
