Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Central Regional Advisory Committee

The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Central Regional Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, January 16, at 6 p.m., in the Board Room, the Brock Administration Building, Craven County Community College, New Bern, NC.

The committee will receive updates on the most recent Marine Fisheries Commission business meeting held in Hatteras and on MFC/DMF activities that affect the Northeast District.

The committee will receive presentations on the Sea Turtle Bycatch Advisory Committee Final Report and its recommendations to the MFC. The committee will also receive updates on mediation and fish house inventories.

The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Central Regional Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Washington Regional Office, 943 Washington Square Mall, Washington, NC.

The committee will review and discuss the draft Shrimp Fishery Management Plan (FMP). The Draft FMP has been prepared by the Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) with the advice of a Shrimp FMP Advisory Committee. Discussion of the FMP began in February 2004. Management measures and the Draft FMP will be reviewed by the MFC regional committees, and public meetings will be held in conjunction with the regional and Crustacean Advisory Committee meetings to receive additional public input.
